FAQ

What can I use your music for?

Our music can be used for virtually anything including film productions, TV shows, video games, commercials, streaming sites, live productions, in your store, in your audiobook, as on-hold telephone music, YouTube videos (AND you can monetize the videos), and many other projects.

How do I receive my tracks after licensing?

You will receive an email with a secure link to download your audio track immediately after a successful payment transaction.

What audio format will I be receiving?

You will receive a WAV file which is the highest possible quality available and can be easily converted for your convenience.

When will I receive my license?

We will send you a downloadable PDF file of your license within two business days of purchase. If you require your license sooner please contact us and we’ll do our best to accommodate your needs.

How do I credit this music in my project? (Film, TV, etc.)

Music by:
O’Connell Music Co.

(You may also include the title of the track and/or our website ocmusicco.com if you like.)

Do I have to put the credit where people can see it?

Yes. Credits change from media to media – but in general a credit needs to be placed so that a person who wants to know where the music came from should have no difficulty finding it. A reasonable effort may be expended (e.g. clicking on a credits option) but the credits should not be obscured.

Can I modify your music to fit my needs?

Yes. You may edit, remix, loop and adapt the music as needed to fit your project. We can also fit the music to your film. Contact us for details.

Can I use a track that I heard on your website exclusively if I negotiate a deal with you to purchase it?

Most of the songs on our site have already been used in other projects and by the time you’ve heard the track you are asking this question about, it’s highly likely that individuals have already used this track for their projects as well. Granting you full and exclusive rights to a track, no matter the amount of money you offer, would betray the trust we’ve built with many people who have already used our music in good faith. We do, however, have full capabilities to compose brand new material on a work-for-hire basis. Please contact us to discuss your needs.

Who owns the rights to the music on this site?

All of our composers own the rights to their individual works in this music library. We have an agreement with each composer to license their music (royalty-free) on their behalf.

I am a composer. Can I place my music in your library for licensing?

Yes! We love partnering with passionate composers. If your music fits the needs of our clients we’d love to bring you on board. Drop us a line with a link where we can hear your stuff and we’ll be happy to check it out.

Will you write original music for my project?

Absolutely! We offer custom composition for any sized project and we can even grant you exclusive licensing rights if you need. For more information contact us to discuss your project and budget.

Will you compose new original pieces for my project for free?

No. But we offer promotional tracks for contests and several events we sponsor throughout the year.

I want a piece of music that sounds just like this song I have, but different enough so that I don’t have to pay licensing fees. Will you make it?

No. Sorry, we do not do sound-alikes.

Do you do sound design?

Yes. While sound design is not our specialty we can and will definitely work to meet your needs.

Do you have any advice for filmmakers when choosing optimal music for my project?

Yes. We’ve posted several articles sharing our knowledge, tips, and advice on our blog page.

I have a question that was not answered here. Can you help?

Yes. You may contact us with your concerns.
