What can I use your music for?
Our music can be used for any size budget film productions, TV shows, video games, commercials, streaming sites, live productions, in your store, in your audiobook, as on-hold telephone music, YouTube videos (AND you can monetize the videos), and many other projects. Please contact us for more details.
Will you write original music for my project?
Yes. That’s what we do. If you like what you hear on our site and need something custom for your production, we would be more than happy to work with you and produce some custom music. Please contact us to discuss your project and pricing.
How do I receive my tracks after licensing?
We will send a secure link to download it directly. If you have any trouble at all receiving your tracks just send an email and we’ll reply with a secure downloadable link.
What are the formats to your music?
Our music is in .wav format which is the highest possible quality available and can be easily converted for your convenience.
Will you score new original pieces for my project for free?
Probably not. Sorry. Please contact us to discuss other alternative options.
I want a piece of music that sounds just like this song I have, but different enough so that I don’t have to pay licensing fees. Will you make it?
No. Sorry, we do not do sound-alikes.
Can I use a track that I heard on your website exclusively if I negotiate a deal with you to purchase it?
Most of the songs on our site have already been used in other projects and by the time you’ve heard the track you are asking this question about, it’s highly likely that individuals have already used this track for their projects as well. Granting you full and exclusive rights to a track, no matter the amount of money you offer, would betray the trust we’ve built with many people who have already used our music in good faith. We do, however, have full capabilities to compose brand new material on a work-for-hire basis. Please contact us to discuss your needs.
How do I place a credit for this music in my project?
O’Connell Music Co.
(Feel free to include the title of the track if you like.)
Do I have to put the credit where people can see it?
Yes. Credits change from media to media – but in general a credit needs to be placed such that a person who wants to know where the music came from should have no difficulty finding it. A reasonable effort may be expended (e.g. clicking on a credits option) but the credits should not be obscured.
Do you do sound design?
Yes. While sound design is not our specialty we can and will definitely work to meet your needs.
Can I modify your music to fit my needs?
Yes. You may edit, remix, loop and adapt the music as needed to fit your project. We can also fit the music to your film for a fee.
Is your music in the public domain?
Did you really make all this music?
Yes. We compose, record, mix, and produce all of our music.
What kind of equipment do you use?
We own a full studio that we utilize for recording, mixing and mastering and we primarily use Studio One 3 Professional software with PreSonus interfaces to record, arrange and edit all of our music. We own an extensive array of digital instruments and we also have access to almost any virtual instrument imaginable, so if you require an obscure instrument or tone that we don’t physically own we can still satisfy your needs. You can hear some of the samples on our Home page.
Is there sheet music available?
No. But if you require sheet music notation we will be happy to work with you.
Who designed your website/logo?
Eric O’Connell designed the website. Graphic designer, Randy Wagner, brought the vision of our logo to life.
Do you offer any kind of guarantee for custom-fit soundtracks?
Yes. Our job is not done until you are completely satisfied with our work. We work diligently within time constraints to ensure plenty of time for necessary edits and refurbishing.
Do you have any advice for filmmakers when choosing optimal music for my project?
Yes. We’ve posted several articles sharing our knowledge, tips, and advice on our blog page.
I have a question that was not answered here. Can you help?
Yes. You may contact us on our Contact page.
